Each year we have a large presence at the LA county fair in Pomona. This is a major event for us and it requires many volunteers to make it work. To help work at the fair doesn’t require being a master beekeeper, anyone can help regardless of their bee knowledge.

Glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup, is one of the most commonly used herbicides in the world by commercial gardeners. However, many pesticides - including insecticides, fungicides, and herbicides - harm pollinators and other beneficial insects, it can be directly toxic to bees if they come into contact with it while foraging. Bees may ingest glyphosate residues on plants, leading to acute toxicity.
To help educate those in the farming and gardening industries about this toxic chemical, we've created a comprehensive guide. It covers things like what it is used for, symptoms, and side effects. Included is a second guide regarding non-toxic alternatives, please take a look:
